Ms. Williams
"What's the "purpose" in puzzles? Puzzles challenge young brain development and growth.
My classroom is a combination of low income families and students with special needs, ranging in ages three to five years old.
The main goal of my classroom is to increase social skills of children in low-income families and children with disabilities as well as improve their chances of success in learning."
My Project
"I start each day off with puzzle time because floor puzzles encourage children to work together while learning numbers, letters, shapes, size, color, and motor skills. A developing brain looks for patterns in our world and puzzles are a true patterning activity. Patterning is also the foundation of reading, math, and logic skills.
Many of my puzzles have suffered from wear and tear with the daily use. As children become more skilled, I need to challenge them with more complex puzzles. The addition of 9 puzzles in my class would be extremely helpful.
Ever listen to childrens self talk while they put puzzles together? The children in my class have a wide-range of abilities. You will make it possible for them to build their confidence, refine their small motor skills, use problem solving, and increase their language all through use of puzzles in varying degrees of difficulty. These are all skills they need to succeed in school. Please help us to teach piece by piece!
My students need 3 puzzle sets. "
